I have been an active member of the Labour Party since 1944.  Since 1944 I have been involved in every election held in Mossley.

I was first elected in 1957 onto Mossley Council, I have the honour of being the only Councillor in the history of Mossley, to stand for Council in all 3 Wards, winning a seat in each.

In 1974 Mossley joined Tameside and I was lucky enough to top the poll. My whole political life has evolved around getting the most for Mossley.
